Lake District Restaurants

THE WALLS OF JERICHO!

Jericho’s restaurant in Windermere village was chosen for our 11th wedding anniversary dinner after much deliberation and angst. The restaurant is within the Waverley Hotel on College Road and turned out to be a real Lake District gem.

The dining room is cool and sophisticated in an unfussy way and the service is friendly & efficient without being overly “in your face”

The blonde & I decided to skip starters & go for a main course & pudding. I chose the fillet steak which at £20 was more reasonable than other restaurants & the blonde decided on Duck with couscous.

Both were excellent, the steak was melt in your mouth perfect and the duck although not pink enough was still full of flavour and a perfect match for the couscous. We chose the house red, a cheeky french one from 2005 at £19 and declared Jericho’s our favourite restaurant of the year so far.

Pudding was a trio of strawberries for her & a creme brulee with shortbread for him.

Go there,you will enjoy it!
