The Roxy Cinema Ulverston

March 3, 2008

Went to the Roxy Cinema in Ulverston last night to see No Country For Old Men, the Coen Brothers multi oscar winning film.

It’s always a treat to visit the Roxy, the entry price is reasonable, the decor 1930’s, the screen large, and the sound system is good. The ultimate Roxy pleasure however arrives in the form of an ice cream bearing usherette at the interval. Or at least it did. the Roxy seem to have dispensed with this throwback to the golden days of cinemagoing, and the experience is diminished because of that.

Come on Northern Morris, bring back our ice cream lady.
